to inspire the next idea. A place where self expression and creating
beauty is like breathing - something that simply must be done.Leveraging an aesthetic nurtured in his
years in the interior design and fashion industry, Brian is not a painter,
photographer, ceramicist or sculptor - but an artist who appreciates and
manipulates everything and anything that might help him inspire his
audience. Unabashedly decorative in his approach, Brian believes in
the power of beauty.
"We perceive color differently depending on the light in which we see it,"
explains Brian. "These paintings amplify that nuance. The gold leaf in
the silhouetted forms reflect the light as it changes from night to day,
creating a dynamic relationship with the vivid colors that surround them."
Born and raised in California's central valley, Brian grew up in the
shadow of Yosemite, surrounded by an abundance of nature. In this series
of paintings, recalling summer days spent in the meadows of his youth,
Brian seeks to refine nature's beauty to it's barest elements of light,
texture and form. |
